# Authorising the alias at the CNMC (when Instasent files it)

When Instasent files the alias for you, your legal representative receives a CNMC notification and has to authorise it at the electronic office. These are the steps they follow at sede.cnmc.gob.es.

**Language:** en
**Audience:** platform
**TLDR:** When Instasent files your alias with the CNMC, your legal representative receives a notification and has 10 working days to authorise it. They sign in at sede.cnmc.gob.es with Cl@ve or a certificate, choose Applicant «En nombre propio» (in your own name) and Request type «Autorización de alias» (alias authorisation), select «Autorizar» (authorise) for each alias, set the activation date and the legitimate link with your brand, and click «Revisar y presentar» (review and submit).

When you choose to have **Instasent file the alias for you**, Instasent registers
it in the CNMC Sender Alias Registry as the origin provider. From there, the
remaining step is taken by your **legal representative**: the CNMC notifies them
and they have to authorise the alias at its electronic office. This page explains
that authorisation, step by step.

> **Note**: This is the usual route, where Instasent files the registration and your legal
> representative only has to authorise it. If you prefer to register the alias
> yourself, see
> [Registering your alias directly with the CNMC](/platform/en/channels/countries/spain/self-register).
> And if your legal representative has no valid electronic certificate in Spain,
> see
> [Registering the alias without an electronic certificate](/platform/en/channels/countries/spain/authorization-letters).

## Before you start: the CNMC notification

Once the request is filed, the CNMC notifies your **legal representative** by
email. The notification tells them that their messaging provider has, on their
behalf, submitted a request to register the alias in the Sender Alias Registry,
and that they have **10 working days** to authorise the registration, state the
type of legitimate link they hold with each alias, sign the corresponding
responsible declaration and provide any information needed to complete the
registration.

*The CNMC notification includes the link to the electronic office to authorise the registration.*

The legal representative opens the notification, reviews the details and follows
the process link:

## The steps at the electronic office

#### 1. Access the CNMC electronic office

On the **Gestión del Registro de alias** (Sender Alias Registry management)
page, the legal representative signs in with the **same Cl\@ve or electronic
certificate** they used to open the notification.

*You access the process with Cl@ve or with an electronic certificate.*

#### 2. Applicant: «En nombre propio» (in your own name)

In the **Solicitante** (Applicant) section, choose **«En nombre propio»** (in
your own name), since they are acting as the company's legal representative.

#### 3. Request type: «Autorización de alias» (alias authorisation)

In **Tipo de solicitud** (Request type), choose **«Autorización de alias»**
(alias authorisation).

#### 4. Authorise each alias

In **Autorización de Alias** (Alias authorisation), review the aliases shown in
the request and, in the **Decisión** (Decision) field, select **«Autorizar»**
(authorise).

#### 5. Set the activation date

In **Fecha de activación** (Activation date) you can enter the same date on
which you are carrying out the authorisation.

#### 6. State the legitimate link

In **Vinculación legítima** (Legitimate link), state how the alias relates to
your brand from the options in the dropdown. In the **«Especificar cuál es»**
(Specify which) section you can write a brief clarifying note.

*For each alias: Decision «Autorizar» (authorise), activation date and legitimate link. Finally, «Revisar y presentar» (review and submit).*

#### 7. Review and submit

Confirm by clicking **«Revisar y presentar»** (review and submit).

Once these steps are complete, your aliases are correctly authorised and you can
keep using them as normal.

> **Tip**: If your legal representative has no valid electronic certificate in Spain, they
> can't authorise the alias this way. In that case, see
> [Registering the alias without an electronic certificate](/platform/en/channels/countries/spain/authorization-letters),
> where a person or entity with a valid certificate acts on their behalf through an
> authorisation letter.
