# Registering your alias directly with the CNMC

If you prefer to register the alias yourself instead of having Instasent file it, this is the full process at the CNMC's electronic office, valid for SMS and RCS.

To send **SMS and RCS** to Spanish numbers, your alias has to be registered with
the CNMC. You can do that registration through Instasent or submit it yourself
directly at the CNMC's electronic office. This page describes the second case:
registering on your own, without Instasent's help.

To do it, go to the process:
`https://sede.cnmc.gob.es/tramites/telecomunicaciones/gestion-del-registro-de-alias`.

> **Note**: You need **Cl\@ve or a valid digital certificate** to act before the public
> administrations in Spain. If you don't have one, see

Once inside the process, the steps are as follows.

## 1. Applicant

State on whose behalf you are acting:

- **«En nombre propio»** (in your own name) — if you sign in with the company's
  electronic certificate or with a certificate that already proves you can act on
  behalf of your company.
- **«En representación de»** (on behalf of) — if you sign in with your personal
  certificate to submit the request on behalf of the company. This is the usual
  case if you work for the company but aren't the legal representative. Enter the
  company's tax ID (NIF) and registered name, plus its address.

> **Warning**: When the request is submitted **«En representación de»** (on behalf of), the
> representative will receive a CNMC notification and will have **10 working days**
> to authorise it and sign the legitimate-link declaration. To do so, they'll need
> a valid digital certificate.

## 2. Request type

Select **«Inscripción de Alias»** (alias registration).

## 3. Brand owner's representative

Click **«Añadir representante»** (add representative) and enter the details of the
company's **legal representative**: name, DNI/NIE, email and phone. Tick
**«Recibir notificaciones»** (receive notifications).

> **Warning**: The representative must be the person with the authority to legally bind the
> company, not simply the marketing person managing the registration.

## 4. Complete the alias details

Click **«Añadir alias»** (add alias) and enter:

- **The alias you use**, that is, the sender of your messages.
- **Message type**: SMS/MMS or RCS.
- **Activation date**: select today's date.
- **The legitimate link**, that is, why you're entitled to register that alias.
  Choose the option that best fits your case and, in the **«Especificar cuál es»**
  (Specify which) section, you can write a brief clarifying note.
- **Providers**: Instasent Mobile Advertising SL.
- **Third parties** (optional) — only if there's an intermediary between your
  company and Instasent. For example, a marketing agency or an SMS-sending
  software.

Click **«Añadir Alias»** (add alias) if you want to register several SMS and RCS
senders in the same request.

Once you've entered all your aliases, click **«Revisar y presentar»** (review and
submit). After the legal representative's authorisation, the request is left
pending review by the CNMC.

> **Tip**: If you prefer Instasent to file the registration for you, you don't need this
> process: provide your details in the panel and your legal representative only
> has to authorise it. See
