# Legal Profiles

Register your company's or brands' legal details so Instasent can register your senders with operators and regulators. This page explains what a legal profile is, how to create one, and how it's assigned to your senders.

A legal profile holds the **legal details of one of your brands or companies** — registered name, tax ID and address (the address is only required if Instasent files the registration for you) — that Instasent needs to **register your senders with operators and regulators**. Think of it as your brand's ID inside Instasent: you record the details once and reuse them for every sender that needs them.

> **Note**: Legal profiles are **organization-wide**: they're shared across all your projects and senders, and managed by whoever administers the organization.

## What they're for

In many countries an alphanumeric sender (the name shown as the origin of the message) must be **registered with the regulator** before it can send — in Spain, with the **CNMC**. That registration requires the legal details of the sending entity, and that's where the legal profile comes in: you keep those details in one place so Instasent can file the registration **on your behalf**, with nothing for you to submit.

A single legal profile is **reused for SMS and RCS**, and for as many senders as belong to that brand.

## Where to find it

Open **Settings**, then **Legal Profiles** (`Settings > Organization > Legal Profiles`). The list shows your profiles and which senders they're assigned to.

## Creating a legal profile

#### 1. Add the profile

Create a profile and give it a recognizable name — usually the brand or company name.

#### 2. Fill in the legal details

Enter the entity's details — registered name, tax ID and address — exactly as they officially appear. The regulator validates them, so they must be accurate.

#### 3. Assign it to your senders

When you register a sender, you choose the legal profile whose details are sent to the regulator. The same profile works for several senders.

## Sender review

When your organization has alphanumeric senders that need to be registered — today this applies to **Spain and the CNMC** — a second section, **Sender review**, appears on the same page below your profiles. It lists the senders Instasent detected from your past campaigns so you can get them formally registered under the new regulations.

Each detected sender needs a **legal profile assigned** to it. Once you assign one, Instasent takes care of filing the registration with the regulator on your behalf; you don't submit anything yourself.

If a sender you use isn't in the list, add it with **Add sender**. That opens a panel with two fields:

- **Sender alias** — the name as it appears as the origin of your messages (up to 64 characters).
- **Country** — only **Spain** is available for now. Choosing another country shows *"Sender registration is currently only available in Spain."*

### Sender statuses

Each sender shows a status so you can see what still needs your attention:

| Status          | What it means                                                                                           |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Pending**     | No legal profile assigned yet. Assign one to move it forward.                                           |
| **In review**   | A profile is assigned and Instasent is preparing the registration.                                      |
| **In progress** | The registration has been filed with the regulator and is in progress.                                  |
| **Accepted**    | The sender was accepted and can be used.                                                                |
| **Rejected**    | The regulator (or a format check) rejected the alias. The reason is shown so you can decide what to do. |
| **Discarded**   | You chose not to register this sender.                                                                  |

### Discarding a sender

If you no longer use a sender, you can **discard** it and add an optional reason. Discarded senders won't be registered.
