# Localization

Set your organization's default language, regional settings and timezone. This page explains what each preference controls and how currency is displayed.

**Audience:** platform
**TLDR:** Localization sets your organization's default language, regional settings and timezone (Settings > Organization > Localization): which language the dashboard reads in and how figures, dates and currency are displayed. There's no separate currency setting — the display currency comes from the regional settings, and the account is settled in euros. Each person also has their own preferences in their profile.

Your organization has a default language, regional settings and timezone: they decide which language the dashboard reads in and how figures, dates and currency are displayed. In short, they're the starting point for the whole team — each person can then set their own — and you set them under **Localization**.

## Where to find it

Open **Settings**, then **Localization** (`Settings > Localization`).

## The three preferences

- `Language`
  The dashboard language for your organization. Instasent is available in English and Spanish.
- `Regional settings`
  Controls how currency, numbers and dates are displayed throughout the application — for example, the decimal separator and the currency symbol shown next to amounts.
- `Timezone`
  The organization's default timezone. It affects how dates and times are shown.

## How currency works

There is no separate currency setting: the currency shown next to amounts comes from your **Regional settings**. A European locale shows euros, a US locale shows dollars, and so on.

> **Note**: **Display only.** Your account is managed in euros. The regional setting changes how amounts are *presented* — the underlying balance, pricing and invoices stay in euros, and the conversion rate used for display can vary day to day. {/* VERIFY: confirm the account is always settled in EUR and the currency preference is purely presentational */}

Your personal account also has its own preferences, separate from the organization default: under **Profile → Language & Currency** you set your own language, regional settings and timezone, plus a **Display currency** — the currency your amounts are shown in. See [Language & currency (profile)](/platform/en/profile/localization).
