# Security

Secure your personal account: two-step authentication (authenticator app, SMS or email) and your active sessions. This page covers the available methods and how to close all sessions.

Security protects your personal account: you add a second check at sign-in and control where you're signed in. Your password is changed from [Account](/platform/en/profile/account).

## Where to find it

Open **Settings**, then **Security** (`Settings > Profile > Security`).

## Two-step authentication

Two-step authentication adds a second check at sign-in. Three methods are available:

| Method                | How it works                                                                                                                                 |
| --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Authenticator APP** | A one-time code from an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy). Scan the QR code, then enter the 6-digit code to confirm. |
| **SMS**               | A one-time code sent by SMS to your phone.                                                                                                   |
| **Email**             | A one-time code sent to your email.                                                                                                          |

> **Note**: **Keep in mind:** if you enable more than one method, **all of them are required** at sign-in. To turn a method off, you must keep at least one other enabled.

If your organization [requires two-step authentication](/platform/en/organization/team#requiring-two-step-authentication), at least one method must stay enabled on your account.

## Active sessions

The same screen lists where you're signed in and lets you **close all active sessions** at once — useful if you've signed in on a shared or lost device.
