Audience table
The audience table lists every contact in the project. This page covers its dynamic columns, the saved views, search and sort, the audience selector and filter builder, the bulk actions you can run on a selection, and the empty states.
The audience table, under Audience › Contacts, is your overview of everyone in the project: one row per contact, with whatever columns you choose. It's where you browse your audience, find a specific person, and act on several contacts at once. Up top, the breadcrumb tells you what you're looking at and how many — for example, All audience followed by a badge with the total number of contacts — and that count updates live as you search or filter.
Columns
The table's columns are your project's data schema: there is one column per attribute, so an e-commerce project shows order and spend fields alongside the basics. Open Columns to show or hide any attribute — the menu is searchable — and drag headers to reorder them. Your choice of columns and their order is remembered for next time.
By default the table opens on a core set of columns, in this order: Full name, Registered, Mobile phone, Email, Country, Data source, Tags, Contact lists and Last seen. A few columns render specially:
- Full name is pinned and always shown — it can't be hidden, and it's the link to the contact's profile.
- Data source shows the data sources a contact came from as badges.
- Tags and Contact lists show their values as labels.
- Date columns (Registered, Last seen, …) show a relative time for recent dates (for example, 4 hours ago) and a full date otherwise.
Click a contact's Full name to open their profile.
Saved views
A view is a saved combination of columns and sort order. The view selector (labelled with the active view, Default view by default) lets you switch between them in one click — useful for jumping between, say, contact details and consent status without re-picking columns each time.
Instasent ships these built-in views:
| View | Focuses on |
|---|---|
| Default view | The core columns, sorted by last seen (most recent first). |
| Contact details | Registration, phone, email, company, country, language, timezone, gender, birthday, interests. |
| Channels & consent | Phone and email plus the per-channel subscription and marketing-consent fields. |
| Data sources | Data sources, phone, email, tags and the registration / import / update dates. |
| Location | Country, state, region, city, zip code, language, timezone and IP. |
| Tracking & UTM | Registration, country and the UTM source / medium / campaign, referrer and URL. |
Three more views appear only when the project has the matching data: Ecommerce (order counts, spend, averages, last/first order and predicted next order), Deals & CRM (account state, deals open/won/lost, orders and spend), and Subscriptions (active/trial/inactive subscriptions and subscription products).
Search, sort and filter
- Search — type in the search box to find contacts. Search needs at least 3 characters, and it's universal: Instasent decides which fields to match.
- Sort — click a column header to sort by that field. Sorting is by one column at a time; changing it returns you to the first page.
- Audience selector — the All audience button in the breadcrumb opens a picker grouped by Segments, Data sources, Tags, Lists and custom criteria, so you can scope the table to any of them. All audience shows everyone.
- Filters — open Filters to narrow the list with the same condition builder used for segments: conditions on attributes, activity and segment membership, combined with AND/OR. The contact count updates as you add conditions, and a filtered view can be saved as a segment so you can reuse it.
The list loads as you scroll, in pages of 50 contacts.
Acting on a selection
Tick the checkbox on one or more rows — or Select all — to act on the selection. There are two bulk actions:
- View detail — opens the contact's profile. Available when exactly one contact is selected.
- Delete — removes the selected contacts.
There is no export or "add to segment" action from this selection. To group contacts by rules rather than picking them by hand, build a segment.
When the table is empty
- A brand-new project shows a "No contacts yet" state with two calls to action: Add data source and Add contact. The Add contacts menu in the header offers the same two options — add one contact by hand, or connect a data source.
- A filter or search with no matches shows a No results message; clear the filter or search to see your contacts again.
Looking for one person instead? Open their contact profile. To define a reusable group, build a segment.
