Test numbers
Test numbers are the phone numbers you send to when you preview and validate a message before going live. This page covers adding, renaming and removing them, the per-plan limit, and how they're used in a test send.
Test numbers are the phone numbers you send a message to when you want to check it before the real send — see exactly how it lands on a device: the sender, the text, the links, the formatting. You manage them under Settings → Tools → Test phones, and you use them when you send a test from a campaign.
Adding a test number
Click Add test number, enter the phone number and, optionally, a name to recognise it by. The number is validated by format and accepted straight away — there's no confirmation code to enter.
Editing and removing
- Edit — you can change a test number's name. The number itself can't be edited; to change the number, remove it and add the new one.
- Remove — removing a test number takes effect immediately.
Limit
How many test numbers you can add depends on your plan — the panel shows your current maximum. When you reach it, adding is blocked with a notice. There's also a short cool-down: if you've changed these numbers several times in a row, you wait a little before changing them again.
Permissions
Adding, editing and removing test numbers require the project-write permission. Without it, the list is read-only.
Once you have a test number, head to Test sends to preview a campaign before sending it for real.
