Balance
How your Instasent balance works: funds, the included monthly credit, auto-reload and the low-balance alert.
With Instasent you pay up front: you add balance first, and as you send, each message is drawn from it. Everything to do with your balance lives in one place — Settings > Organization > Billing, in the Account Balance card — where you can check it and manage it.
What the Balance card shows
The first thing you see is your total balance, which is really two things added together: the funds you've topped up and the monthly credit that comes with your plan. If your preferred currency isn't the euro, amounts are shown converted at the latest exchange rate, though Instasent always bills in euros.
On a prepaid account the total breaks down into:
- Funds — the balance you have topped up.
- Free monthly credit — the credit included with your plan, with a progress bar and the date it renews. This credit is spent before your funds.
From the card you can Add funds, and from the ⋮ menu you can redeem a code, manage low-balance alerts or open the SMS calculator.
Auto-reload
Auto-reload keeps your balance topped up for you: when it drops below a point you set, it adds funds on its own, so a campaign doesn't stall halfway for running out. It charges your default card and lets you know each time. Reloads can take a few hours to process.
You set it up in the Account Balance card. To enable it you need a saved card and at least one first payment made.
The settings are:
- If drops below — the threshold that triggers a reload: 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 750 or 1000 €.
- Recharge — the amount to add: 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400 or 500 €.
- Max. frequency — the minimum time between reloads: at most one reload per day, per 3 days, per week, per 2 weeks or per 4 weeks.
Low-balance alert
Apart from auto-reload, there's a gentler option: get a heads-up when your balance drops below a threshold you choose, without anything topping up on its own. This low-balance alert lives in your notification settings, not in Billing. From the ⋮ menu of the Account Balance card, Manage low balance alerts takes you there.
The threshold is configurable and notifies the members subscribed to that notification. It can be changed by the organization owner or a user with the Billing role. To set it, open your notification settings (Settings > Your profile > Notifications) and adjust the low-balance alert.
Where consumption appears
Each top-up and each charge produces an entry in your payment history, where you can review and download invoices. See Invoices.
