Plans & subscription
Choose, change or cancel your Instasent plan: how upgrades, downgrades and cancellation work, and the included monthly credit.
Your plan is what sets three things: which features your organization has, how much monthly credit you get, and the price you pay per message. You manage it from Settings > Organization > Billing, in the active plan section (the card is titled with your plan's name: Free, Premium, Business…). Changing it is reserved for the organization owner, an administrator or a user with the Billing role.
The available plans
Instasent has three plans you can sign up for yourself, plus a tailored option:
- Free — the plan you start on, with no subscription.
- Premium — for startups and small companies; everything in Free, plus more.
- Business — for larger companies; everything in Premium, plus more.
- Enterprise — a tailored plan. Contact us to set it up.
Higher plans unlock more features and a better per-message price. To compare what each plan includes, open the plan selector from the active plan section or go to the full-page plan comparison — the comparison table shows every feature side by side and highlights your current plan.
Included monthly credit
With Premium and Business you get a free monthly credit each month to spend on your messages. This credit is spent before your balance — Instasent uses up the month's credit first, and only then draws from your funds.
The credit renews on your subscription's renewal date, not on the first of the month. You can see how much credit you have left, and when it renews, in the Balance section.
Changing your plan
In the active plan section, select Change plan, then the plan and billing frequency (monthly or annual — annual applies a discount versus paying monthly). What happens next depends on which way you're moving:
- Upgrade. The change applies immediately and you are charged the prorated difference for the rest of the current period right away.
- Downgrade. You are not charged now. Your plan changes to the new one at the end of the current period, so you keep your current features until then.
A scheduled change (a downgrade or a planned switch) shows up as a note at the foot of your current plan's card, with the date it takes effect. You can cancel a scheduled change before that date.
Cancelling your subscription
If you decide to cancel, select Cancel subscription in the active plan section. Nothing drops off at once: your current plan's features stay active until the end of the period you've already paid for, and only after that does your account switch to the Free plan.
Cancelling does not delete your account — it only turns off the paid features. Your account and its data stay in place.
Redeeming a code
If you have an activation or offer code, select Redeem a code in the active plan section and enter it. This is used for special offers and lifetime plans.
If your billing is managed elsewhere
Some organizations run their plan and billing outside Instasent — for example, through an external marketplace. When that's the case, the panel lets you know that billing is managed externally, and the plan and payment actions are on that platform, not in Instasent.
